Bute Hydro Inc postpones its application indefinitely

"I will be sending an Update in the next week or so to ensure that Interested Parties are aware of the latest letter that the Panel has receive from Bute Hydro regarding a new delay in the submission of its environmental impact statement. Our understanding is that it is unlikely that the environmental impact statement will be submitted prior to 2011 (the next step in the environmental review process). You will see in the attached letter that the proponent does not state any specific date for the submission of the environmental impact statement.

Regarding the participant funding announced last summer: I am precisely waiting from the News Release to be soon issued soon by the Agency to send my Update to all Interested Parties. The News Release will announce the cancellation of the funding. The availability of funding will be re-announced at a later date once we have a better idea of the schedule for the submission of the environmental impact statement. At this time, there is no point in providing participant funding since it may take another 18 months or so before we get started again with the review process."
