Oral Statement
An oral statement allows you to provide the Panel with your knowledge, views or concerns on the proposed Enbridge Northern Gateway Project in person during the Community Hearings.

Community Hearings are the first of two sets of hearings to be held during the joint review process, and are where registrants can make their oral statements.
Community Hearings will be held, likely in early 2012, in locations along the proposed pipeline route and in the vicinity of the marine terminals, as well as Vancouver and Port Hardy, BC. The full list of locations and a schedule will be announced at a later date.
Active participation in the community hearings is restricted to the registered participants.
However, the public is welcome to attend and observe the community hearings and may listen to the community hearings over the Internet by logging on to the Panel’s website at www.gatewaypanel.review.gc.ca and following the instructions under “Hearings”.

Your oral statement should describe the nature of your interest in the application and provide any relevant information that explains or supports your statement. Panel members will listen to and consider all oral statements given throughout the joint review process.
As guidance, the Panel does not expect oral statements to be longer than 10 minutes.
Deadline for registering to make an oral statement is 6 October 2011.
Oral statements will be transcribed and the transcripts will become public documents. Following the community hearings the transcripts will be available on this website in the Public Registry.
